State considering more spring sports changes

THIS WEEK'S RAIN BRINGING BAD NEWS TO HIGH SCHOOL SPORTS TEAMS LOOKING TO FINISH OUT THEIR SEASONS ROD: SOFTBALL, BASEBALL AND GOLF TEAMS HAVE HAD TO CUT DOWN ON GAMES BECAUSE OF THE SNOW AND RAIN THIS SPRING CHRISTIE: BUT AS NEWSCHANNEL NINE'S ROB HACKFORD EXPLAINS NOW THE STATE IS STEPPING IN TO TRY AND HELP THOSE TEAMS OUT NATS OF RAIN ROB: WITH THE END OF THE SEASON FAST APPROACHING AND THE RAIN SHOWING NO SIGNS OF LETTING UP THE STATE HIGH SCHOOL SPORTS ASSOCIATION IS ALLOWING YOUR STUDENT'S HIGH SCHOOL TEAM TO ADD SUNDAY ON THEIR SCHEDULE JOHN RATHBUN: We've got 105 districts within section 3 and I think this weather has affected all 105 schools

ROB: WHILE UNFORTUNATE WEATHER ISN'T A NEW ISSUE IN CENTRAL NEW YORK SECTION THREE EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR JOHN RATHBUN SAYS IT'S BEEN ESPECIALLY IMPACTFUL THIS SPRING WHICH IS WHY THE STATE IS PREPARING OTHER OPTIONS JOHN RATHBUN: Last year the max games a school can play in baseball and softball is 20 we didn't have one baseball program that played 20 games last year because of the wet weather, we won't even come close to it this year

It's just really affected everybody ROB HACKFORD: While a heavy rainfall tends to run off the field, soaking rains like this build up on the field There's a good inch here by first base and the outfield isn't much better JOHN RATHBUN: You can't play on a soggy field you can play when the ball is wet it's really a safety issue and parents don't want to go sit in the rain either, so it's been a crazy spring ROB: THOSE OTHER OPTIONS
